I enjoy all aspects of working on deck, particularly the tender driving and watersports, where I can utilise the skills I have developed over the last 6 years within the yachting industry in both, deck and engineering departments. M/Y SAMAX | 55m Feadship (built 1996)
Yacht description: Private, dual season, family orientated
Cruising areas: Eastern Mediterranean & SE Asia
Crew: 18 onboard (UK, SA, Thai) Deck team: Captain, C/O , 2nd Officer, bosun, 3 deckhands
My duties: Leading the deck team of 3 deckhands, and reporting to the Chief and 2nd Officer. Maintenance, carpentry, other deck projects execution, mooring and anchoring, tendering guests and watersports, bridge watch lookout, helping officers with the running of ISM and SMS. During the refits between two seasons steping up to 2nd officer role: supervising of contractors, project management, organizing of tasks for the deck crew and deck contractors. I’ve completed 2 deliveries/crossings Malta to Thailand and back.

Yacht description: Charter single season

My duties: After the first COVID lock-down in France I was employed as a temporary/relief chase boat captain for a brand new Axopar 37ft. Captain Jean-Maxime was looking for a temp chase boat captain to relief his first officer until he can travel back from South Africa to Europe. (He arrived back on July 2nd). 3 out of my 4 weeks onboard we had guests onboard. My duties were preparing the new chase boat for the season in the first week, and when guests on – following the mother-ship, picking up/dropping off guests, fueling and bookkeeping, also I was helping on the deck of the main vessel. I was living/sleeping onboard the chase boat.

My duties: started as a dayworker in February during a refit in a shipyard, my jobs were general preparation for the summer season, painting of the whole vessel, fixing interior defects (Carpentry). In the season my duties were: tenders maintenance and cleanliness, tendering guests to/from ports or other yachts, watersports especially wake surfing, snorkeling & swimming day trips, crane operations, drone filming & video editing, watchkeeping, maintenance of the yacht and tenders including shipyard once per month for all tenders.

Yacht description: Private, single season, familly orientated. Guests staying extended time(summer season from April until November)

My position: Temporary 4th Engineer
Description: I returned onboard M/Y Martha Ann again for the winter refit
My duties: watchkeeping in ER, assisting the chief and 2nd engineer in the following yearly services: main engines and generators (Caterpillar), diesel particle filters, sewage plant unit, seawater cooling system, air condition units, FW, GW and BW systems, weekly and monthly IDEA jobs. In the Christmas / New Year holiday time I was left in charge of the ER for 10 days.

My duties: Preparing the yacht for the season, including all exterior of the yacht and the tender. During the charter season my responsibilities were to clean and maintain the yacht to a high standard, also mooring the boat, both navigational and anchor watch, tendering guests and water sports. I was a Safety Officer on board which involved the organisation of safety briefings and checking safety equipment on weekly/monthly bases as per mini ISM requirement.

Description: Temporary position for the dry dock period
Crew: 22 (International)
My duties: Watch keeping in ER. Cleaning of ER, technical spaces, tanks and void spaces. Painting of tanks, void spaces and equipment after overhaul. Work on the various systems, assisting engineers in the general jobs.

Tasks included demolition, carpentry, installation of electrical circuits, installation of plumbing, structural repairs, plastering, ceiling, tiling, parquetry, and all the finishing details that you would expect in a luxury apartment.
